Install as an app
Installing Patrimoine
Section titled “Installing Patrimoine”Patrimoine is an installable web app: once installed, it opens in its own window with its own icon, just like a native app. To install it, use your browser’s install option — on desktop Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave) look for the install icon in the address bar; on mobile, use “Add to Home Screen” or “Install app” from the browser menu.
On iPhone and iPad
Section titled “On iPhone and iPad”- Open your Patrimoine address in Safari. On iOS 16.4 and later, another browser works too.
- Tap “Share”.
- Choose “Add to Home Screen”. On iOS 26 and later, keep “Open as Web App” switched on; it is on by default.
- Tap “Add”, then open Patrimoine from its Home Screen icon and sign in.
iOS keeps the icon Patrimoine had when you added it. To get an updated icon, remove Patrimoine from the Home Screen and add it again.
If signing in does not bring you back to the app, close it, open it again from the Home Screen icon and sign in again. If it still fails, note your iOS version when you report the problem.
For the native Android app, see Mobile app.
What works offline
Section titled “What works offline”Once installed, the app’s screens load from cache even without a connection. However, your financial data always comes from your server, so viewing up-to-date figures and saving changes still require a connection.
The PDF summary and the app in a language other than French are stored the first time you use them, so they work offline only after you have used them once with a connection.
Getting updates
Section titled “Getting updates”When a new version of Patrimoine is deployed, the app shows a prompt letting you know an update is available. Accept the prompt to load the new version — the app never reloads on its own in the middle of what you’re doing.
How this is built: see Progressive Web App (PWA) in the Developer Manual.
